The Government of Bihar has always been sensitive towards the cause of Women’s Empowerment. That’s why it has always been an integral part of Government’s policies. So, within two months of the ation of state Government, they have implemented the Nishchay “ Aarakshit Rozgaar Mahilaao Ka Adhikar”.

The approval for 35% reservation for women in direct recruitment across all cadres and services of the state has been given.
Women Empowerment Policy, 2015 has been launched in the state. From the beginning, the State Government is committed to women’s empowerment, therefore this is an integral part of state policy. Initially, with the provision of 50% reservation in Panchayati Raj institutions, Municipal bodies and in appointment of teachers in primary schools, the State Government laid foundation to the women empowerment initiative. Apart from this, with the establishment of Mahila Police Battalion, 35% reservation of women in the appointment of Police Sub Inspectors and constables and formation of “self help groups”under jivika, the self confidence and self reliance has increased in women. It is a silent revolution which is transforming the social scenario of the state, specially rural areas.
To take forward the movement of Women Empowerment, implementation of 35% horizontal reservation to women in recruitment to all cadres and services of the state under “Aarakshit Rozgar Mahilaon Ka Adhikar” has been one of the agendas of Good Governance Program.
Roster points and selection procedure have been fixed regarding the provisioned 35% reservation to women via Resolution No. 2342 dated 15th of February, 2016 of GAD.
